Saturday, May 17th

8:00 am
  • Kids (12 & under) Fishing Derby: Trophies for largest fish, smallest fish, and oddest fish, plus other prizes. At the Madeira Park Government Dock - 12967 Madeira Park Rd.
  • Fun Run: FREE. Registration is at 7:30am with the run starting at 8:00am. Race starts in front of the Oak Tree market in empty lot at 12874 Madeira Park Rd.
  • Lions’ Pancake Breakfast: Pender Harbour Community Hall (until 11 am), 12905 Madeira Park Rd.

11:00 am
  • May Day Parade along Madeira Park Road from Lillies Lake Rd. to the Madeira Park Elementary School. (Note: parking is limited so get there early!)
  • Please join us for a very special 81st anniversary parade!
  • Participants: please muster at the Legion by 10:00 am
  • Parade entry forms are at HARBOUR INSURANCE. Enter until May 8th, 2026  
    ~ Floats / car / group: $20
    ~ Individual / horse: $5
    ~ Kids under 12: free

11:30 am
  • Crowning of the May Queen TBA

12:00-4:00pm
Activities may include:​
  • Classic car display
  • Live music 
  • Licensed Beer Garden (open til 5PM)
  • Food Trucks
  • Roaming performers
  • Events & children’s games: bouncy castles, face painting, games & prizes, dunk tank, popcorn, cotton candy, magicians
  • Vendors: retail, crafts, artisanal food & drinks and more

Founded in 1945, Pender Harbour May Day is the Sunshine Coast's largest and longest-running event. Organized by a dedicated committee of volunteers, this celebration honours the area's rich history and vibrant community spirit.

As a local fundraising initiative, the event features a new theme each year, ensuring a delightful event that includes a parade, games, entertainment, and food.

May Day is an inclusive and unbiased celebration, welcoming people from all walks of life and around the world to come and enjoy. Please be respectful and enjoy responsibly!
